La Isabela, (10 minutes away from the hotel) the first European city in the so-called New World (America).
It was founded on January 6 1494, by Christopher Columbus during his second trip, after the destruction of the first settlement, called Fort Christmas, a fortress built with the wreck of the Santa Maria.
La Isabela was composed of about two hundred wooden houses. There were also stone buildings like The tower of the observatory, the second house of Christopher Columbus and the Church.
La Marina, 5 minutes away, catamaran rides.
